It isn’t insensitive at all, a lot of countries around the world consume insects, not to mention tarantulas. This stigma that we have against eating them is really out of disgust not ‘animal welfare’. Plus its chock full of protein and vitamins.

Yeah! That spider never killed a single thing in its life!! How dare you blender it. LOL. Actually I have eaten spiders (They are tasty) and almost everything under the sun. Point is Animals kill other animals (including omnivores) its part of life.
It is a good prank IDEA however, it does fool the pranked into thinking its a harmless wonderful smoothie. However the prank fails by not showing the critical reaction picture (although I’m sure the cameraman got to experience.) Have fun and enjoy the prank for what its worth.
